no matter what i do with this thing it always feels like the light module and the battery pack are off center. always feels lopsided. the power cable drives me nuts... it's too stiff and twisted so its always pulling on one side of the headband.

I think the future of ALL packs are the running style shoulder straps. It is just so nice to have access to so much stuff while moving.

I bought this pack for the Salktantay trek in Peru and it was perfect, however, I found it a little short, even on its "longer" setting. Im 6,1"

Why do people always show pulling a bottle out of that back pocket? Of course you can pull it out. You just can’t get it back in.

The water blader compartment is actually very difficult to access, tricky to squeeze bladder in even when bag is empty. Then somehow in front it lacks hose holder (little clip that holds the end into place) as many other bags do, so the the hose either dangles in front of you or you have to shovel it in to one of the front pocket on the shoulder strap, again inconvenient and unstable, making it impossible for sports require more movement such as running, biking etc. So the bladder placement design is lacking. Anyway, I had high hopes for this bag, and it turned out a bit disappointing and quite expensive too.

I just purchased the Osprey Talon Velocity 30 backpack for biking and short trips, and it's hands down the most comfortable backpack I've ever worn. The 30-liter compartment is a decent size, but what I really love are the stretchy side pouches where you can easily fit a tent or similar items. The wide front straps are incredibly comfortable, and you can fit a lot of things in the pockets, like a GPS navigator, phone, or even water bottles. The velocity model is even cheaper than a pro or regular model!

1. You shall not hold the neox while belaying (written in the manual and the issues the Grigri has with it are even worse) 2. The neox is much heavier 3. The neox is noisy (makes a noise while giving slack)

I absolutely love this pack. I bought both the 20L and 30L in the Talon and Tempest lines for my wife and I. It is very comfortable and honestly fits my hammock gear and basic gear quite nicely. I'm not a fastpacker, I just like the fit of it and the stretchy pockets fit my oversize gear while dedicating the entire tub of the pack for smaller gear and food. I was actually able to load for an overnight with the 20L at a hair less than 11 pounds without food and water. It makes for a great daypack.

Could you recommend me other backpacks for climbing? I need to carry rope 80m, quickdraws, shoes, chalk, harness, food, and some other things. I was thinking about 45 l? Or it’s very small?

Brilliant video, I've a 40ltr bag that I've used for 2 years and it took this video to show me how to wear it properly. I often do 20 mile walks and I feel it afterwards. Hopefully repositioning will help with the aches. I'll be doing the c2c next year so a new bigger bag will need to be correct. Thanks

They pay you to saying that or really think that. My experience of The North Face Torre Eggerw jacket is horrible. I wear it day after i bought the jacket and i went to mall and my shirt was wet from inside like a crazy. I never had similar experience with goretex

I really enjoy your channel. If you are asking for topic ideas I would be interested in your thoughts on footcare in a waterlogged environment like a swamp. Spoke with a graduate of the Brazilian Jungle Warfare course and he said they all modified flipflop sandals (removed straps and reduced thickness) to make an insole that would not absorb water inside their jungle boots. He also added that they would coat their feet in diaper rash cream to minimize the amount of water absorbed by the skin. What is the fastest way you found to dry boots? Is is sole down/opening up to allow the moisture to evaporat or is it suspended upside down on a stick sole up to allow the water to drip out? Have you tried the inserting a hot obiect like a water bottle to have heat radiate from the inside or putting absorbing/wicking material inside to soak up the moisture? Just curious on your thoughts for this.

Advantages compared to an atc? What I see: Atc: lighter, double rope, rapell, belay the second, more robust as no moving parts (and it is cheap) The grigri blocks also if stupid things hapen but is not good to rapidly change bewtween extending and retracting rope. Neox: no auto blocking, just a little more more blocking force.

Is it made in a country that is a western democracy? Atom Packs looks similar but made in the UK.

While it looks very interesting, I still do feel that we will see a lot of falls initially as some people simply got used to violating the brake hand principle with the Grigri and it seems that this device will not lock as easily as some other devices. @hardiseasy will surely provide us with some testing in the future. What will also be of note is that a Grigri tends to get a bit smoother once it is worn in properly, it will be interesting to see whether or not the same effect can be observed here.

Why are you not using a safebiner?

My questions would be how it handles dirt, being a wheel as well as ice climbing applications. Would it freeze up?

I've heard its not ideal for those who only do TR, since during a catch it will slide around 4cm (can be found in their FAQs).

For me the Wild Country Revo is king for indoor climbing. This looks nice, I wonder if it’s as „stupid proof“ as the Revo.

A shame PETZL didn't put the steel reinforcement in the flap where the rope rubs over it. They did it in the GriGri+ and it extends the life of the device to nearly indefinitely. The softer aluminium rubs through after a couple of years. Well, I guess it's better for their bottom line that way!

Can you belay the second? Petzl doesn't say etiher way in the manual. I assume you can't then?

Nice overview! Is the 50 and the 40 more or less the same size but the 50 is taller and has the lid? and what are your thoughts on the loose side pockets, anything fall out? and how strong is the fabric on the bottom of the pockets? I need to get my tripod in there which has spiked feet. Thanks

Okay, I'm a sports climber that doesn't really have a clue how trad works, but: why would you not use the NEOX for trad? From the few trad experiences I've had belaying trad and sports looked very similar. What am I missing?
